Gnrh1-induced responses are indirect in female medaka Fsh cells

New article on FSH regulation by GNRH in MEDAKA

Together with Kjetil Hodne, Eirill Ager Wick and Finn-Arne Weltzien, we published a paper in Endocrinology entitled Gnrh1-induced responses are indirect in female medaka Fsh cells.

Are Fsh cells in fish regulated by Gnrh? This was the main question we wanted to investigate in this paper using the model organism, medaka.

Combining electrophysiology and Ca2+ imaging with in situ techniques we found that Fsh cells do not possess Gnrh receptors. However, the Fsh cells can respond to Gnrh indirectly, through communication with Lh cells.
